Clandestine Laboratory Response Team

Members of the Drug Task Force Clandestine Laboratory Response Team are responsible for the investigation and dismantling of clandestine drug laboratories. The current team consists of seven investigators; two from the Drug Task Force, one from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Wilmington Police Department, the Franklin Police Department, the Lebanon Police Department, and the Warren County Prosecutors Office. The team also has a chemist employed by the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory.

All team members have successfully completed the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Clandestine Drug Laboratory Safety Certification program per the requirements of OSHA regulations. Annual completion of DEA or other approved agency re-certification training is also required of all members. Several members of the response team have completed advanced training through the DEA and are certified to act as Clandestine Laboratory Site Safety Officers.


Clandestine Laboratory Response Team Trailer
This 26 foot enclosed trailer houses all of the essential safety equipment and necessary packaging materials to process a methamphetamine manufacturing location. The trailer responds to all methamphetamine laboratory investigations, and is also used to provide education to the general public. Those touring the trailer will be able to see the equipment actually used to combat dangerous methamphetamine labs, drug task force meth display, and a 12 minute DVD on the dangers of this extremely addictive drug.

The trailer was purchased through asset forfeiture funds designated to drug prevention and education, and a generous donation by the Proctor and Gamble Company. No taxpayer money was used in the purchase of any part of the trailer. This trailer is available for display at large gatherings throughout the county and the City of Wilmington by contacting the drug task force at 513-336-0070.
