ECSTASY

Task Force finds ecstasy popular at Rave parties

Ecstasy is a drug that Warren County and Wilmington experience sporadically and usually in more affluent neighborhoods. It became popular with its usage in Rave parties that sprouted up all over the country, and in our region, a few years ago.

The ecstasy we have found in our jurisdictions has usually been in pill form, with a variety of imprints in each tablet. However, there have also been occasions that the pills or tablets have been unmarked. Common ecstasy slang is to call the drug “rolls” and they can be purchased individually, with large dealers referring to 100 doses as a “jar”.

There is a common misconception that ecstasy is a very safe illegal drug. Ecstasy is not a safe alternative, and can cause overdosing and even death in extreme cases. Rave parties are sometimes disguised by their promoters as non-alcoholic youth dances or concerts. Groups or individuals offering meeting space should make sure that all rental requests are researched when the parties and motives are unknown to the potential renter. If you have concerns, or know of a Rave party scheduled for Warren County or Wilmington, please contact the drug task force.
